Ian Roberts is a Post-Graduate Researcher and Adjunct Faculty at Bangor University where he is researching misconduct in banking and finance. Ian's research approach is pragmatic and uses detailed reports of incidences of corporate and individual misconduct to better understand the drivers of misconduct and develop policy to impede such behaviours.
Before joining Bangor University Ian had a successful career in banking, holding senior management roles in European financial institutions in the areas of business development and international strategic management. His experience includes complex onboarding procedures for onshore and offshore clients involving advanced AML and CTF measures. In addition to European regulatory standards, Ian also has significant experience of international investments and engaging with bank regulators in the Middle East and Asia.
