International Accounting & Finance Doctoral Symposium (IAFDS) Conference
On the 11-13th June, the Bangor Business School hosted the 11th International Accounting & Finance Doctoral Symposium (IAFDS). The IAFDS is run in partnership with many leading UK, European and international Universities with the aim of developing the world's future leading researchers in banking, finance and accounting.
Professor Jon Williams, the Head of the Bangor Business School and commented ‘the Bangor Business School is proud to host high profile events such as the IAFDS. The IAFDS is an innovative collaboration of universities designed to foster and cultivate the leading banking, finance and accounting researchers of tomorrow. Bangor Business School is delighted to take a central role in this initiative and provide many gifted academics a solid foundation to build their careers.’
The IAFDS is a developmental collaboration between Bangor University and the University of Queensland, the University of Strathclyde, Deakin University, SKEMA Business School, University of Bologna, the University of Leeds, Universidad de Salamanca, Trondheim Business School, the University of Liverpool, Tsinghua University, the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Politecnico di Milano.
Bangor University has taught banking and finance for over a century and has a history of repeated innovation in financial and banking education. Students worldwide are attracted to Bangor Business School by our long standing reputation, high quality and expertise, particularly in the areas of banking and financial services, in which Bangor is a leading European centre and home to one of the largest PhD schools of any business school in the UK. In recent years, Bangor Business School staff have conducted high level consultancy work and training for many leading organisations including the European Commission, The World Bank, the UK Treasury, The Financial Conduct Authority and the Competition and Markets Authority.
The symposium will be hosted next year by the Politecnico di Milano at a location on the shores of Lake Como, Italy.
